Our Purpose: “To maintain, protect and enhance the quality of the Manitowish Waters Chain of Lakes and other waters in Manitowish Waters township for the collective interests of not only the members but of all those who appreciate and enjoy those waters.”

   Welcome to the Manitowish Waters Lake Association's website.  We are providing this site to better serve our members with timely and easily accessible information.  As always, your input is of great value.  Please use the menu above to navigate our site as well as to give us feedback on how we may serve you better. 

   The MWLA is involved in Water Clarity and Quality Testing, Navigation and Boating Regulation Awareness, Monitoring Local Government Meetings, Publishing a Newsletter, Adopt a Highway, Annual 4th of July and Colorama Events, Town Lakes Committee Dealing with Invasive Species, and Volunteering at Boat Landings for the “Clean Boats Clean Waters” Campaign. The MWLA has standing committees in Public Communications, Community Outreach, Government Relations, and Water Ecology & Safety. Click on the “Committees” link for more detailed information about each committee.

    Who can be a member? All persons residing on or owning property within one mile of the waters of the Manitowish Waters chain of lakes and all other lakes and rivers located wholly or partially within Manitowish Waters Township shall be eligible for membership in the Association. In addition, eligibility for membership shall be extended to those individuals who reside within one mile of the described waters at least one month per year. Dues are $25 per year covering August 1 to July 31 of the following year.

    The MWLA holds their annual meeting in the morning of the second Saturday in July at a location to be announced by the Board of Directors. Members, guests, and the public are cordially invited to attend.
